People often ask what do you mean by New Style Leadership and Social Enterprise?
Well, a friend tagged me in a post today bringing my attention to this video, it is the perfect example of both – New Style Leadership and Social Enterprise. The video demonstrates how Veronika Scott recognised a genuine need that she could support and acted on. And then went one step further and truly LISTENED to her audience, customers and clients needs, who also became staff members. Wonderful story!
It doesn’t matter what business you are in… BELONGING is what really MATTERS NOW.
Your Vision and Values are your real wealth and resourse today, which also invites effective collaboration.
25th of November is White Ribbon Day
Over the last few months Lisa McAskill and Elizabeth Ellames joined our vision and campaign #EsteemTowardWomen with the #OpeningDoors vision and campaign. And last night Prema Joy ‘s wonderful idea became a reality – The Opening Doors for domestic violence art auction and exhibition raised $9,400…tremendous effort and wonderful job by the auctioneer Dale Gray.
Often it takes a tragedy to seek a remedy. Such was the genesis of White Ribbon. In 1989, on the afternoon of December 6, a student at the University of Montreal massacred 14 of his fellow female students. His actions traumatised a nation and brought the issue of violence against women to the forefront of our collective consciousness.
In response, a group of men in Toronto decided to speak out and work to stop men’s violence against women. In 1991 they initiated a male-led movement known as White Ribbon, with an annual awareness-raising event (White Ribbon Day) held between 25 November and 6 December. It is now an international effort in over 57 countries, of men and boys working to end violence against women.
This is the video we made to support the women and their Opening Doors project. #OurFutureIsNOW
